At the start of this year's Winter Meet, Sara Gane picked up an engraved cup for winning, for the third year in a row, the Belsham Trophy as the regions top swimmer.
The prize is won by the swimmer who comes closest to the winning time in an event at the NZ Open Championships, at which New Zealands Olympic athletes compete. Sara first won the trophy in 2009-10 as a 12-year-old.
